The story is divided into four chapters. You can do a Fort Solis marathon in a single session, as if it were a Netflix series, or you can play chapter by chapter, as if it were an episodic program.
After responding to a somewhat unusual emergency call from a mining base, Jack arrives at the dark and desolate Fort Solis. Faced with warnings of an impending storm, he decides to head inland in search of a contact. As the night progresses, the situation spirals out of control and Jack begins to discover what happened to the crew of the place. Soon the storm will come and no one will be able to get out, so he will have to resist until morning.
Fort Solis aims to offer a high-fidelity experience so that players can fully immerse themselves in the characters and their nightly adventure. Voiced by Roger Clark, Troy Baker, and Julia Brown, Fort Solis will make players feel fear, empathy, and more with each chapter of the story. The main story is supported by other narrative elements such as audio logs, security recordings, and fragments of the past that lead to the events of the present. It also has video recordings made by crew members. They detail the events before and even after the night the alarms sounded at Fort Solis.
Fort Solis provides players with a level of detail and facial and body animation never seen before. The realistic universe of Fort Solis is brought to life with the help of Unreal Engine 5.2.
The framework of Fort Solis stands above the ground, but also below it. The base features a series of locations, each with their own surface and underground levels. Players will be able to explore the isolated storm-battered surface, the sinister utility tunnels in total darkness, or the different departments that make Fort Solis work, such as Engineering, Medicine, and Telecommunications. As the story progresses, you will be able to revisit the different places to get more details about the story or to become the stage where the fate that awaits Jack will be enacted.
