Half-Life 1 Anthology is a collection of the original Half-Life game and its expansion packs, released by Valve Corporation in 2005. The anthology includes the original Half-Life game, Half-Life: Opposing Force, Half-Life: Blue Shift, and the Half-Life High Definition Pack.
In the original Half-Life game, players take on the role of Gordon Freeman, a physicist who must fight his way through a research facility that has been overrun by interdimensional creatures. Along the way, he must uncover the cause of the incident and prevent the creatures from reaching the surface and causing further harm.
Opposing Force is an expansion pack that follows the story of Adrian Shephard, a member of a military unit sent to cover up the events of the original game. Players will face new enemies, weapons, and environments as they uncover the truth behind the government's involvement in the incident.
In Blue Shift, players assume the role of Barney Calhoun, a security guard at the Black Mesa Research Facility. The game follows Barney as he attempts to escape the facility during the same time period as the events of the original game.
The Half-Life High Definition Pack adds improved graphics and textures to the original Half-Life game, bringing it up to modern standards. The anthology includes all of the games in their original form, as well as updated versions that run on modern systems.
